La Network de Fiber Optic de la Vall d'Erro i Roncesvalles (Navarra) és una iniciativa impulsada per l'Town Hall de la Vall d'Erro, l'Town Hall deRoncesvalles i la Guifi·net Foundation. També compta amb la col·laboració i participació de la citizens i three operators que ofereixen serveis d'Internet i telefonia: Evel, Sisnet and Wikai.

The objective of the project is to deploy a shared telecommunications network to bring Internet access through fiber optic to any household, business or facility in the municipalities of Vall d'Erro and Roncesvalles.

Unlike conventional models, where the network is owned by a single operator who deploys and exploits it at the same time, a shared network is an infrastructure used by everyone: it is for all those actors involved in its investment and who use it. It is also managed through a series of mechanisms that ensure and prevent anyone from appropriating it, as in the management of communal meadows or forests.

This model has advantages such as:

• - Having an open, free and neutral network.

• - Sharing the same network with multiple operators avoids monopoly.

• - It is more environmentally sustainable because infrastructure is not duplicated.

• - Reducing costs.

• - Users can choose from different commercial options.

• - It prevents the infrastructure from being used for commercial purposes.

Oferim un màxim de 1,000 Mbps symmetricallyampliables en el futur, que és el mateix que 1 Gbps. La xifra cobreix les necessitats de qualsevol usuari. La capacitat real i d'ampla de banda garantit serà el que l'usuari contracti amb l'operador.

The Guifi·net Foundation ensures that the network can be used under equal conditions by any operator wishing to offer services. In addition, it ensures that good commercial and management practices are applied, as well as the resolution of possible conflicts between operators.
