La Network deOptical Fiber de laNavares de las Cuevas, Cerezo de Abajo and Castrocerracín (Segovia) és una iniciativa impulsada per l'Nordesnet Association, amb el suport de la Guifi·net Foundation, i que té per objectiu desplegar una xarxa de telecomunicacions rurals i mancomunada per fer arribar l'accés a Internet a través de la fibra òptica a qualsevol llar, empresa o explotació d'aquests municipis.

El projecte també compta amb la col·laboració i participació de la citizens i, de moment, una operator que ofereix serveis d'Internet i telefonia: Nordesnet.

Unlike conventional models, where the network is owned by a single operator who deploys and operates it, a shared network is an infrastructure used by everyone: it is owned by all those actors involved who have invested in it and use it. It is managed through a series of mechanisms that ensure and prevent anyone from appropriating it , as happens in the management of communal fields or forests.

This model has advantages such as:

• - Having an open, free and neutral network.

• - Sharing the same network with multiple operators avoids monopoly.

• - It is more environmentally sustainable because it does not duplicate infrastructures.

• - Reduces costs.

• - Users can choose from different commercial options.

• - Prevents the infrastructure from being used for business purposes.
